ADL Florida serves on the frontline of combatting hate each day responding to incidents of antisemitism and hate, fighting bias and bullying through educational opportunities in more than 260 public, private and parochial schools throughout the state, training law enforcement officers to respond to extremist and terrorist threats and working to protect the civil liberties of all Floridians.Community Offerings in Florida Include:FLORIDA HATE CRIME COALITIONThe Florida Hate Crime Coalition (FHCC), convened and led by ADL Florida, advocates for the passage of legislation to make our state's hate crime law comprehensive by closing five major loopholes in the law. We advocate for the law to include hate crimes targeting people on the basis of their gender, gender identity, and physical disability – which are not currently covered. The FHCC is currently composed of more than 330 law enforcement leaders, elected officials, civil rights groups, and non-profit organizations.COMMITTEE ENGAGEMENTADL Florida works collaboratively with our Advocacy & Engagement, Civil Rights and Education Committees to educate elected officials, build partnerships, develop initiatives and address issues concerning our state.ANNUAL SUPREME COURT REVIEWThis annual, virtual briefing, led by distinguished legal scholars and Supreme Court experts provides an opportunity to learn about critical cases and their impact.
