ISABEL is an EU project with the aim to increase the production and consumption of sustainable bioenergy around Europe. To achieve this, ISABEL focuses on triggering and supporting sustainable biogas energy communities. More specifically, ISABEL will deploy regional platforms that will enable citizens and local stakeholders to acquire an active role in the planning and development of local sustainable biogas supply chains. To this end, local communities will be provided with an arsenal of expert knowledge, collaboration tools, innovation opportunities, access to policy-makers and local authorities, funding alternatives, and more. The project will roll-out in three regions across Europe: Yorkshire and the Humber (United Kingdom), Baden-Württemberg Lake Constance (Germany), and Central Macedonia (Greece). ISABEL is funded under the Horizon 2020 programme and will last for three years.
