Las Américas Aspira Academy

The Las Américas ASPIRA Academy (LAAA) is the direct outgrowth of the mission of ASPIRA of Delaware, Inc., an associate office of the national ASPIRA Association. ASPIRA, since its start with ASPIRA New York, has had over fifty years of experience creating and implementing formal and informal education programs that build up youth self-esteem, cultural awareness, and leadership abilities. ASPIRA associate offices successfully operate charter schools in Philadelphia and Chicago. Originally founded as a Puerto-Rican organization, ASPIRA Associate Offices in the 7 states of Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico now serve a diverse population of youth, with the specific mission to empower the Puerto Rican and Latino community through advocacy and the education and leadership development of its youth. Las Américas ASPIRA Academy opened its doors in August 2011 with just over 300 students in grades K-5. In the 2020-2021 school year, LAAA will be serving over 1,000 students across two campuses in Newark, Delaware. Our East Campus will consist of grades K-8 and our high school will be located at the West Campus. Our East Campus is located at 326 Ruthar Drive in Newark, Delaware. Our West Campus is located at 750 Otts Chapel Road in Newark, Delaware.
