In 2006, NAMPORT, Namibia's National Port Authority and NAMDOCK, Namibia Drydock and Ship Repair jointly undertook a significant step in increasing Namibia's capacity in the ship repair industry by entering into a Joint Venture with the aim to intensify ship repair activities that would ultimately boost job creation and economic development of Walvis Bay and surrounding communities.
