In other to reduce deaths due to road crashes,the Federal Ministry of Transportation in collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross Society has directed that all vehicle owners in Nigeria must acquire the globally recommended vehicle first aid kit as specified by the National road traffic regulations 2012 and the Nigerian high way code. Registration of vehicles for the first aid kits can be done at any bank through REMITA, under the Pre and Post crash initiative and online through: www.nigerianresponders.org.ng or www.nigerianresponders.gov.ng. Resgistration to be renewed every 2years include N8,500 for motorcycles , tricycles, cars and SUVs and N10,000 for buses,trailers and heavy duty vehicles.Benefit includes 1.5million accicdent emergency treatment and 1million compensation for permanent disablity or death for each passenger of the registered vehicle. Enforcement of this law commences soon. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse . Let's join hands to reduce deaths on the Nigerian road.
