Plearny is a business dedicated to improving people's prospects of employment by raising levels of scientific and technical education. We work with children and adults to help them understand STEM concepts, using working models incorporating LEGO bricks, motors and other moving parts. We work on the principle that people understand better when they learn by experience. It has been demonstrated that learning is retained most effectively if the student is engaged and enjoying the lesson - what better way to do this than with the world's most popular toy, LEGO. We work with schools providing lessons, after-school clubs and workshops, with parents wanting birthday parties, with disabled and special needs learners opening new ways to learn. We are based in South Wales, but have a global vision. All nations are facing the same challenges with changing patterns of employment and need to improve the technical education of their workforce and electorate. This can be achieved by teaching STEM topics in an interesting and accessible way to students of all ages from primary to retired.
