It is our goal to provide our community with education, professional training and skills development so that needs within our community are being met. RDS uses the Deaf-first approach. What does this mean? All resources are designed for Deaf people BY Deaf people. Why is this important? Designing resources using the Deaf-first approach means our language and culture are included as an integral part of the content, not added on as an accessibility feature. Deaf people see and access the world differently. Having materials developed with Deaf-first in mind makes for a more meaningful impact and connection.
