Run for Support and Health (RuSH) is a student group at the University of Alberta aimed to support and fundraise for charity through participation or organization of charitable runs, to promote general health through exercise in a fun encouraging environment and to provide an opportunity to meet and foster close friendship. The group firmly believes that a healthy body fosters healthy mind and regular exercise will help deal with the stressful lives as a university student. We achieve our mission by hosting weekly group runs, participating in and organizing charitable runs, assiduous fundraising, community outreach in elementary schools and daycares via our Physical Literacy for Active Youth (PLAY) program and volunteerism, running theory and endurance development training, and social gatherings. RuSH exists as a social and charitable support in addition to opportunity to exercise in a group environment, and is driven by a mandate of promoting a healthy lifestyle while giving back to the community in a meaningful way.
