Unió de Pagesos de Catalunya, founded in 1974, is an organisation with over 200 members, including farmers'​ union representatives across all counties in Catalonia, technical specialists and workers in general, all aimed to improve the living and working conditions of farmers and to provide the best services relevant to their activity. At the same time, from the primary sector point of view, the organisation is fully committed to social and environmental actions in challenges which the whole of society face.It is the leading farmers'​ union in the country, with more than 6,000 members, and has achieved the highest number of votes in the six agricultural elections held so far in Catalonia.In addition, Unió de Pagesos has 25 offices scattered throughout the region as well as a number of groups and foundations targeting areas such as young farmers, female farmers, elder farmers, integration of migrant workers, safety at work and environmental and landscape sustainability.
