Launched in Montreal in July 2017, Unknown Gems is the first collaborative and interactive platform which showcases black owned businesses and black entrepreneurs in Quebec and in Canada. The platform not only serves as a directory for these businesses but it is also a marketing tool to propel their online presence. We highlight the diverse achievements within the communities and target anyone who's interested in widening their consumer options.An important barrier when wanting to consume outside of the mainstream markets is the lack of information and visibility of businesses owned by people of smaller communities or from minorities. We want to tackle this issue by finding these businesses, trying them out, and presenting them to you.Unknown Gems aims to be the leader when it comes to promoting black entrepreneurs and black owned businesses in Canada.
