It was awesome, I'd say the best encounter was when a little boy that was in Tel Aviv asked his father in Berlin – "Dad, what are you doing *here*?"--------------------------------------------------------------How far did we get?- Coded our own HD "Skype" using Goggle's amazing Web-RTC technology.- Ran a 6 months pilot, with 2 operating video-conferencing stations in 2 restaurants – one in Berlin, and one in Tel Aviv.- Teamed up with several Israeli celebrities which promoted our restaurants for future revenues.- Raised ~28,500 USD from fellow hi-tech workers.- Created an average monthly income of ~400 USD per station.--------------------------------------------------------------What stopped us?Technical difficulties during the pilot led us to use hardware that was ~4 times more expansive than we had anticipated in our early experiments – which "broke" our financial model. We stopped believing it could be a profitable project.
