About our ClubLocated a short walk from the town centre (just behind Homebase) Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club has played an important role in local history since 1898. We are a Not For Profit organisation run by an enthusiastic & friendly group of volunteers. Our mission is to become a widely used local community hub and one of the best cricket & social members clubs in Surrey.We offer inclusive cricket participation and player development through specialist coaching and competitive cricket playing opportunities to all age groups, abilities and genders. We are a recognised All Stars Cricket Centre for boys & girls aged 5+ yrs and play boys & girls age group teams (under 8~15) in the West Surrey Cricket League. We organise & host the annual Elmbridge schools cricket festival in March-July and offer local schools a safe green space to play sports throughout the year. We host the Strollers Vets football team and local junior football teams in the winter. We reach out and connect with local schools, charities, youth groups and businesses helping to bring everyone together to help make Walton-on-Thames a better place to live. More recently we founded, organised and hosted the Walton-on-Thames Beer, Wine & Live Music Festival. On a Friday & Saturday evening in July this year we opened our doors to 900 people who enjoyed 4 live local bands, 38 local real ales, 8 international wines and local food providers. We are looking for more volunteersTo help us continue this work and do more we are keen to hear from potential volunteers who would like to join our friendly team. We understand you might only be able to offer a couple of hours a week and thats ok. We will offer you something which is managable as well as rewarding.
