Funded in 2018, Pawa Foundation is a non-profit organisation that works with children and families in the rural Eastern DR Congo( North and South Kivu)—providing educational materials and support for poor and underprivileged children and youth from low-income families. In addition, we have well worked to alleviate the hunger rate in the school setting by providing a cup of porridge to children at break time.We plan to start a vocational education program to support out of school children and women in rural communities. From 2018 to 2021, Pawa Foundation has supported more than 1500 children with educational materials, and currently, 50 children are beneficiaries of our scholarship program. During The covid-19 outbreak in 2020, in collaborations with seven other youth-owned grassroots organisations, Pawa supported more than 750 families in Eastern DR Congo with sanitary masks and foodstuffs. In addition, we have had conferences to create awareness on the need for education in the rural areas and the need to implement children rights in DR Congo. In 2021, more than 50 families were supported with basic needs assistance, including food packs, Hygiene Kits after the sudden volcanic eruption of the Nyiragongo. We aim to bring Hope and Smile to Vulnerable Families and Children through our four pillars: education, health and environment, community development, and counselling and support. Our motto is Together for One gesture, One Smile and An assured Future.We are a team of dedicated youth leaders who believe in restoring lives, supporting, equipping the rural communities and contributing towards a better and fruitful future through our actions and activities.We are changing and developing the rural communities with innovative education, partnering with children to alleviate illiteracy, poverty and injustices.Join us so that together we can be and make a difference in our communities.
