ASA Pakistan Ltd, a subsidiary of ASA International, is a for-profit, non-depository Microfinance Institution, operating as a lending company and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, under section 32 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984.ASA Pakistan Ltd. commenced its operations in 2008.The Pakistan Microfinance sector has demonstrated a robust growth over the last decade; however, it has still a long way to lead. The sector was initially dominated by the government-sponsored rural support programs and NGOs. The landscape has changed significantly over the past few years and now includes some microfinance institutions, amongst which ASA Pakistan.
